If you’re a frequent food blog-reader, then you’ve probably seen the Stylish Blogger and Lovely Blog awards floating around by now. And yay for me, last week the very kind Jessica of Bake Me Away awarded them both to me as well; make sure you check out her lovely recipes and stylish pictures. Thanks Jessica! <3
Many of the blogs/bloggers to whom I would have given these awards have already received them, but I have a few more in mind that definitely deserve these as well.
- la vie en verte.
Anna B’s an old friend of mine and her blog is always full of fun comments on life and the most interesting stories ever. She and her husband manage a hostel in New Orleans (after they taught for almost a year in South Korea!) and always have excellent tales to tell. With Mardi Gras just finishing up, I’m looking forward to some good blog posts. ^_^ - emily hauck
Emily’s another friend of mine, and I tend to think of her as my “friend who knows what colors go together.” She’s a graphic designer and if I ever have any questions on design, colors, or photography, she’s the lady I’ll ask. Her blog is always a fun mixture of life stories with her pets, her other half, and her plants in their new home. Also, she takes pretty pictures of my food for me when we both have time. Enjoy! - A Clockwork Lemon
I recently discovered this lovely blog through the Daring Kitchen and love its cheery and creative vibe. You should check out her hilarious cookie dolls. I found them funny…I also have no idea how she had the patience to put them together. O.o
Also for getting this award I’m apparently supposed to share six facts about myself. But since I find this kind of silly and irrelevant for food blogging, I will psuedo-protest, and only post three things about myself. Take that, blogosphere.
- I have a pet rat and a terrier. Doesn’t seem like the best combination? You’re right, it’s not. I still love them both.
- I was a Guild Master for a World of Warcraft guild for around five years before retiring for the Catalysm expansion. Go go gadget nerdiude!
- I have backpacked almost the whole Appalachian Trail in Georgia. I think I have 10-20ish miles left. Goal for the year!
Normal baking programming will return this week, woo woo!
Mary Gezo
Formerly of both n00bcakes and !Blog, the two magically become one on Spatialdrift; expect some lazy baking and serious nerditude. Also, I love semicolons.
Wooo! I feel like I’ve thrown a wrench into the blogosphere by smushing these awards together, but whatevs. XD If 10-20ish miles is “all” you have left, how long is that trail?? Impressive goal!
There’s ~75 miles of the AT in Georgia; I’m hoping to finish it off this year. I think it would be cool to finish the whole AT during my entire life…it’s totally doable and I’d love to hike more than the southeast. 🙂
Congrats on the award and thanks for the nod! We should be backpacking buddies too! You can make awesome energy bars and I’ll take pictures of us eating them 🙂
Wow thank you!! Now I’m a wiener too!!!
@emily – Thanks, and you’re welcome! I agree, we should put together a backpacking trip sometime…I have an idea for a place to go already. 😀 Hmmm…*rummages for energy bar recipe*…sorry, I only bake things with obscene amounts of butter and sugar!
@Stephanie – WE ARE ALL WIENERS!
