I bought a house! Technically “we” bought a house, but it sounds more impressive the first way. This back-entry will do no justice to the trials and tribulations, stress and sleeplessness, lack of proper nutrition and huge expense that was this house-buying process. But it was still awesome, and we got a killer deal and that’s what counts. Check out the before-and-afters:

The dining room, beforeish. Look at the wallpaper and the light fixture, wow! It has little fabric lampshades and everything. Not my style. (Photo by Mary of N00bcakes.) |

And the liquor cabinet. |

In process, the new fan a-spinnin’. |

The main bedroom, that was once described as “an Etsy nightmare.” |

After. My only new-house-designing regret. I was trying to get by with only a few paint colors. After the new year, this room will turn a sage green, methinks. |

And after! That’s right, we left it. Some people love it, some people hate it. I think it’s retrotastic. |
There’s more (there’s always more when it comes to houses, but that’s enough for now. It was really fun to plan out the house (we used AutoCad), buy some new things, and bring it all together. The full set of photos is available on Facebook, if you’re interested.
