Adam was sick so he couldn’t come with me, which was sad both because he missed the time with family, but also his first trip to New York. As I said, we are still planning on going later this year, so we’ll fix that. But I still took some pictures to give Adam a feel for Middle Village.
Like how there’s a deli. And a produce/dry goods store. And a florist. Not just a Publix. In fact, there are no Publix at all.
As I mentioned earlier, I am not sure what my grandmother’s plans are, or if I’ll get to see my grandparents’ house again as it was. So I spent some extra time walking around while I was there, photographing some of my favorite bits.

I’m hoping to help my grandmother with her transition to this next stage of her life, and to maybe score a sweet heirloom to use and display in my home. To keep in the family and be a part of my kids’ and grandkids’ memories. I would really like that. But whatever happens, I’ll still have the memories of my childhood, and the pictures to help jog them.
