Have you been following the BlogHer Food Pity Party on Twitter?
[htmlembed name=”BHFPP-Logo”]
I have. In fact, because I’ve been following it this weekend, I effectively did no baking, so have no “real” post to offer today.
Which is totally fine! In fact, it’s totally in the Pity Party spirit.
The 2011 BlogHer Food convention was held this last Friday and Saturday in Atlanta. It was full of excellent panels, speakers, and naturally, food. Lots of people had a wonderful time.
But the rest of us who couldn’t go? We sat at home. And drank. And cried. Luckily, we had an entire group of people to drink and cry with: The BlogHer Food 2011 Pity Party!
The Pity Party was hosted both this year and last year by The Peche, a husband/wife team who were sad at the prospect of not being able to attend BHF and decided to throw a party of their own. The Pity Party is all about being sad as a group but still finding ways to enjoy the weekend. And possibly win free swag.
An online conference of sorts, food bloggers congregate on Twitter where there are giveaways, lively discussion, and even some panels and speakers of our own! This year’s giveaways have included vodka, knives, cookbooks, and (what I’m personally hoping to win) a year’s supply of Kerrygold butter and cheese. Mmm…be still my heart!
First, here’s a video of @ThreeManyCooks take on a super gin’n’tonic:

Here’s the video from @MrsWheelbarrow about stuffing sausage (NSFW):
I also wanted to include the video of a discussion with Amanda from FoodPornDaily.com, but alas could not find it. Will update later if I can!
The best part about the Pity Party is that, unlike BlogHer Food which ended on Saturday, it’s extending through this entire week. /flex
Be sure to join the party if you like crying and winning things! But don’t you dare take away my year’s supply of butter. >.>
Real non-slacker posts to resume on Wednesday, I promise.

Formerly of both n00bcakes and !Blog, the two magically become one on Spatialdrift; expect some lazy baking and serious nerditude. Also, I love semicolons.
Woo, #BHF11PP! (whenever I type that, I have to think about where the 11 goes. every. single. time.)
Congrats on your win!! Now what are you going to do with it? XD Here’s the Food Porn Daily vid, by the way:
