Cheaha Mountain

On Bald Rock.

Took a quick, pleasant drive through Cheaha State Park this sunday with my brother-in-law and his family. It’s a nice park with a lot of accommodations and neat geological features. We had a really good time, and I’d love to come back and see it in the other seasons, too. I bet it is spectacular in the spring and fall, especially.

I took some dark cell phone pics to share. Yay.

Tower in the mist.
Shot on the way back down.

And here’s a nice pic my sister-in-law took. The stuff in the park is all from the 30s and 40s, all Civilian Conservation Corps stuff. Love the stacked stone look.

(Sidenote: I think it is total BS that there is no relationship to describe my brother-in-law’s wife that doesn’t make it sound dispassionate and unfriendly. So I am aware that I misused the term sister-in-law, and I am publicly stating that I will purposefully misuse it to refer to all my siblings-in-law’s significant others for all time, because we are a close family who actually like each other and explaining it properly is a mouthful and an annoyance. So there.)

  1. I love these photos, E! Brilliant smart-phone usage! I always say sister-in-law too and even that sounds too impersonal, right? Does sisterfriend sound too cult-ish?
p.s. I looove the idea behind the versalette, E! Are you going to pre-order one and rock it around Atlanta? I really like the idea of one in red.
p.p.s. Miss you! We have lots of rocks and mountains here in Scotland — wink, wink!

  2. I think sisterfriend might be too cultish, L.
I love the versalette, too! I can't drop the money right now, but I was thinking aluminum, because I am a scaredy-cat!
And L we are going to be sooooo close to you (well, when compared to how close we are now) next month! So close and yet so far! We will absolutely have to visit soon!
